Watch the European Film Awards live

For the first time, viewers across the globe will be able to tune into a live stream of the 2010 European Film Awards (EFA) ceremony, taking place at 6pm GMT on Saturday 4 December in Tallinn, Estonia.

As 1,400 guests take their seats for the 23rd European Film Awards at Tallinn's Nokia Concert Hall, viewers at home can simply go to the EFA websiteand watch the ceremony for free.

The ceremony will hosted by the German comedian Anke Engelke and the Estonian actor Märt Avandi. Anke Engelke, who also hosted the awards last year has been producing and acting in her comedy Ladykracherfor almost ten years, whilst Märt Avandi is known for his comedy acts both in films and on stage.

Among the evening's distinguished guests will be Swiss actor Bruno Ganz, recipient of the EFA Lifetime Achievement Award. Another honorary award, the EFA Achievement in World Cinema 2010 Award, will be presented to composer Gabriel Yared.

The MEDIA Programme has a strong presence in the nominations for the European Film Awards 2010, with four of the six films nominated for European Film 2010 receiving MEDIA support, including the Academy Award®-winning El secreto de sus ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes),directed by Juan José Campanella.
