MEDIA-supported films nominated for 23rd European Film Awards

The MEDIA Programme has a strong presence in the nominations for the European Film Awards 2010, which have been announced by the European Film Academy (EFA) and EFA Productions. Four of the six films nominated for the European Film EFA Award are MEDIA-supported, including the Academy Award®-winning El secreto de sus ojos (The Secret in Their Eyes),directed by Juan José Campanella.

The French/German/UK co-production The Ghost,directed by Roman Polanski, has been nominated for seven EFA Awards, including European Film, European Director and European Screenwriter. The Ghostwas supported by the MEDIA i2i Audiovisual funding scheme.

Now, more than 2,300 EFA Members are voting for the winners, which will be announced during the European Film Academy Awards ceremony on 4 December 2010 in Tallinn, Estonia. The ceremony can be watched live on the EFA website.
