Apply now for MeetMarket 2012

Applications are currently being received for MeetMarket, the pitching initiative at Sheffield Doc/Fest which is designed to match documentary makers’ most innovative project ideas with UK and international decision-makers. MeetMarket 2012 will take place from 14 to 15 June 2012.

Project selections will be made in advance of Doc/Fest by key decision-makers, who will view one-minute online pitches of innovative documentary ideas (uploaded via Distrify), along with a short synopsis, biographical information and headline budget figures. Their selections reflect which projects they would like to discuss in one-to-one meetings at MeetMarket. Projects can be in any genre of documentary, from factual entertainment through to art/installation documentaries. MeetMarket also welcomes cross-platform/interactive projects and projects looking to raise finance and be distributed/exhibited through alternative strategies including crowd sourcing. MeetMarket is an opportunity to meet experts in these areas, alongside broadcasters, film fund representatives, sales agents and distributors.

In 2011, MeetMarket received 486 entries from 57 countries. The 65 projects that were selected can all be viewed on the MeetMarket website, as can a list of the 217 decision-makers who attended.
