Special edition: MEDIA International
![]() Last year, MEDIA International granted €5 million to organisations that help European audiovisual professionals establish links and develop partnerships with their colleagues on other continents. The objective of MEDIA International is to encourage co-production and increase the circulation of projects between Europe and other parts of the world.
To date, eight MEDIA International-supported projects have published their calls for submissions:
Co-production workshops for feature film producers
![]() Trans Atlantic Partners: An international training programme organised by the Erich Pommer Institut. It is aimed at Canadian and European film and television producers and focuses on the legal and financial knowledge essential for co-production between Europe and Canada.

EAVE Ties that Bind: Asia: Two workshops, held in Italy and South Korea, that will bring together ten film producers from Asian and European countries and develop potential co-productions.

![]() Interchange: Organised by TorinoFilmLab, EAVE and the Dubai International Film Festival, this workshop encourages co-operation between film professionals from Europe, the Gulf and selected Middle Eastern countries.

Co-production workshops for documentary filmmakers
![]() Asian Side of the Doc: This three-day event will unite 50 European decision-makers and 100 Asian television executives and producers seeking to develop co-productions between Asia and Europe in the field of documentary, factual programming and cross-media platforms.
![]() Greenhouse: Selected filmmakers from the ten MEDA countries and Europe will be invited to participate in three seminars, during which they will work on the development of scripts until a comprehensive production file is completed, including a trailer.

![]() Crossing Borders: a joint project by Documentary Campus and the European Documentary Network to encourage collaboration between European documentary filmmakers and those from Australia, China, Singapore and Korea.

![]() Cine Sin Fronteras: Workshops offering training to audiovisual professionals from Europe and Latin America wishing to learn how to encourage the circulation of cinematic works, deal with legal issues and financing strategies and gain further skills in the promotion of independent films.
