The Vilinius International Film Festival, also known as the 'Kino Pavasaris' (Cinema Spring) seeks to present the most interesting and newest independent films from critically acclaimed filmmakers, with a varied programme that includes serious discussions, an educational programme, masterclasses, exhibitions and a special programme to increase the awareness of global warming.

The festival co-operates on an international level with film companies, independent film producers, foreign ambassies and film festivals, selecting films which have been screend at the A List festivals throughout the year.

Each year the festival presents in excess of a 100 films in a varied programme which in 2010 includes:

• Masters: screening critically acclaimed works of professional filmmakers
• Brave Vision: a selection of controversial films
• Discoveries: screening the work of upcoming filmmakers
• Cinedocs: screening brave and important documentaries
• Lithuanian Dreams:  a selection of works by Lithuanian filmmakers
• Retrospectives: screening the best of cinema classics
• The special programme: which in 2010 includes films from exotic and faraway countires.
• New Europe - New Names: screening the best of European film.
