The Seville Film Festival almost entirely concentrates its competitive programme on European projects.

It has feature competitions for European fiction and documentary projects while also showing non-competitive programmes of European short films, films programmed by the European Film Academy, films produced through Eurimages, an annual focus on films from a single European nation, and a focus on films from new member states in the EU.
