Göteborg International Film Festival is the leading film festival in Scandinavia. Held over 11 days, it attracts an audience of 200,000 visitors a year. It invites submissions for the categories of feature film and documentary.

The Film Festival has two competitions for feature films:

The Dragon Award Best Nordic Film Award - open for feature films from Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and Denmark.
The Ingmar Bergman International Debut Award - open for feature films by first and second time director(s).
