Each Itinérances festival explores a different aspect of a recurring theme - hence the title 'Itinérances' combining the french words for 'route' and 'wandering'.

The Film Festival marries fiction with documentary and heritage with discovery, each year focusing on a themed retrospective involving films of all genres and eras reflecting that year's take on the general theme.

The festival includes films from all over the world, several tribute screenings, cine-concerts, silent films, a wide programme of youth-targeted activities and a short film competition.
