The One World Film Festival is currently the biggest human rights film festival in Europe. The festival aims to screen selected films to draw attention to current problems in various parts of the world, and to provide the audience with deeper insights into the international politics and issues occurring throughout the contemporary world.

The event programme presents both high-quality documentaries, as well as films of an investigative and activist nature that attempt to draw attention to important problems and human rights abuses.

Apart from films, the festival is also a forum for discussions, an educational platform and a cultural event. The festival provides a foundation for talks with filmmakers and larger panel discussions with experts specialised in numerous topics. Primary and secondary schools are also provided with documentaries and educational sets hightlighting new and attractive features for teachers.

One World's programme consists of two competition categories, a variety of non-competition categories and thematic categories, as well as a documentary for children section.
