The first Asian Side of the Doc (ASD) will take place in Hong Kong from 22-25 March 2010, supported by MEDIA International, the European Commission initiative which aims to reinforce co-operation between EU and non-European audiovisual professionals.

The three-day event will unite 50 European decision makers and 100 Asian television executives and producers seeking to develop co-production between Asia and Europe in the field of documentary, factual programming and cross-media platforms.

The programme includes: 

• Experts panel sessions
• Pitching sessions
• One-to-one meetings
• Screenings and presentations
• Networking events
• A specific focus on cross-media projects, 3D and theatrical distribution.

In order to reach audiovisual professionals across Asia, ASD will be held in a different major Asian city every year. After Hong Kong, ASD will move to Seoul in 2011 and to Singapore in 2012.

This event is based on the successful Sunny Side Co-production Rendezvous which have been organised for the past six years in the following international cities: New York, Toronto, Washington, Montreal, London and Sofia.
