Power to the Pixel is now receiving applications for The Pixel Lab: The Cross-media Film Workshop, a new residential course to be held 4-10 July 2010 at The St. David's Hotel & Spa in Cardiff, Wales.

The Pixel Lab is open to European audiovisual professionals with a strong track record in their sector, and has a particular focus on the creation, finance and distribution of cross-media content. The Pixel Lab will enable participants to tap into the business knowledge-base of the film, online, broadcast, gaming and mobile industries.

This project-led, intensive week-long workshop, led by international cross-media experts, will consist of a mixture of group work, one-to-one meetings, plenary sessions and case studies, thereby offering a tailored, hands-on opportunity for developing, packaging, marketing and distributing cross-media stories.

Power to the Pixel will select up to 40 European participants: 20 producers with cross-media projects and 20 audiovisual professionals without a project. Participants will additionally benefit from focused distance learning project work between the end of the residency and October, when they will be invited to attend Power to the Pixel's Cross-Media Forum in London and present their projects to potential international partners.

The Pixel Lab is supported by the MEDIA Programme, Skillset, TorinoFilmLab and ARTE. The strategic partner is EAVE.
