CICAE: Art Cinema = Action + Management
Deadline
29 May 2009
Apply online only from March 9, 2009
August 31, 2009 - September 9, 2009, San Servolo, Venice, Italy
The Art Cinema Action Management course is about developing the skills necessary to manage an arthouse cinema. The Programme includes background essentials (economics, law, policies), case studies and master classes (film programming, working with kids, promoting classics, promoting shorts, setting up a project, network action, basic management tools, basic communication tools, digital technologies, etc.) and a strong proportion of workshops involving each individual participant ("1 country/1 cinema", tracks to empower Young Audiences, etc).
The trainers are all successful professionals or experts, working in the cinema business, in the areas of exhibition, distribution, production or within institutions. The format of this intense, 50 hours-long programme, was designed to foster interaction between participants, let them forge new personal links for the future, and produce pragmatic tools and projects useful to the whole profession. The choice of the date will also allow the trainers to attend one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world, the Mostra di Venezia, because it is of paramount importance that quality films remain at the heart of our concerns and debates.
