L'Atelier - Masterclass 2009-2010 is a one-year training programme for budding European film producers and distributors.
Thanks to its project-based and practice-oriented approach, the Atelier - Masterclass manages to keep its finger on the pulse of the European film market. The course fosters practical competence, creativity and dialogue skills and guarantees an intensive insight into operating procedures and requirements in film production.
The programme encompasses:
-workshops and seminars;
-lectures and case studies;
-visits to major festivals (Berlin, Cannes, Angers, Tubingen);
-individual project development by participants.
At the end of the Atelier - Masterclass, the participants produce short films in conjunction with ARTE, the Filmakademie Baden-Wurttemburg (Germany)and La Femis (France) as Franco-German co-productions. The films will be screened at festivals and on ARTE. French and German are used on an equal footing as the working languages in the Atelier - Masterclass.
